The fourth session of the 11th parliament will begin at 5pm on Sept 8.
President Abdul Hamid summoned the session exercising the power bestowed upon him as per Article 72(1) of the Constitution, says a statement issued by Parliament Secretariat on Wednesday (Aug 21).
Prior to the session, parliament’s business advisory committee will sit to finalise the session’s duration and proceedings, according to parliament secretariat sources.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will preside over the meeting.
Third session, however, may last for several days, the sources added.
The last session of the parliament, which was the budget session for 2019-20 fiscal, began on Jun 11 and continued till Jul 11.
