Work on preparing the paper-books of the cases filed in connection with Aug 21 Grenade attack will be completed within the two to four months, says Law Minister Anisul Huq.

He made the remark while speaking to the media at the ministry on Wednesday (Aug 21).

The minister said that verdict has been announced in the two cases filed over the attack and now it was time to execute the verdicts given in the cases.

“The paper-book is necessary for the High Court to hear and dispose of the death references and appeals. The paper-book records all the details of the case, trial proceedings, verdicts, and other documents, including statements and evidence,” he added.

He hoped that the paper-books will be prepared within two to four months after which hearings on death references and appeals can begin.

In response to a media query, the minister said that efforts were underway to bring back all the fugitives convicted in the cases, including acting BNP chairman Tarique Rahman.
