Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.A series of books are in the offing based on intelligence reports against Bangladesh’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“As many as 47 official documents on intelligence reports between 1947 and 1971 have been retrieved, which will be compiled in a series of books,” Awami League chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said on Saturday.
Addressing the party’s extended meeting to interact with grassroots leaders, she said the nearly 40,000 pages of documents with the Special Branch will be turned into a 14-volume book.
She said that the Cabinet has already given its green light to declassify the documents. “The documents also include Bangabandhu’s letters to party leaders across the country.”
Declassification of the documents will reveal new avenues of the history of Bangladesh, said Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu. “Books based on documents between 1974 and 1953 have already been published.”
