1,200 dengue patients hospitalised in 24hrs

The admission was reported from Monday (Aug 12) to 8am on Tuesday (Aug 13), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement.
Of the newly hospitalized patients, the number of dengue patients in Dhaka city now stands at 599 with four suffering from dengue hemorrhagic or severe dengue, said the DGHS's Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room.
The number of dengue cases in all eight divisions (other than Dhaka city), was reported 601.

The total number of admitted patients currently undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals across Bangladesh is 7,547, according to the DGHS data.
As many as 4,115 patients are currently undergoing treatment in Dhaka while another 3,432 people are receiving treatment outside, the data showed.
As many as 44,471 people have been affected by dengue so far in 2019 since Jan 1.
Among those admitted, a total of 36,884 have been released from their respective hospitals and clinics after treatment.
According to official estimates, dengue has claimed 40 lives so far since Jan 1 this year while the unofficial death toll crosses 80.
