Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to arrive Dhaka from the UK on Thursday (Aug 8), says Press Secretary to the PM Ihsanul Karim.

“She wanted to return on Monday (Aug 5) but the doctors there gave her a follow-up appointment that very day and there are no Biman Bangladesh flight from London on Tuesday,” he told Bangla Tribune.

Quoting sources at the Prime Minister’s Office, BSS reports a Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP flight carrying Hasina will depart from the Heathrow International Airport in London at 6:20 pm (London time) on Wednesday (Aug 7).

The flight is scheduled to land Dhaka the next day.

During her last London visit, the prime minister got her right eye treated but complications rose due to which doctors asked her to take rest this time when she went to get her left eye treated, accoridng to people familiar with the matter.

Meanwhile, her spokesperson, Karim said that she met with member of the House of Lords Ahmed and the Commonwealth secretary general as well as the Bangladeshi envoys to Europe while undergoing treatment.

One of her travel companions confirmed that she is monitoring everything from London and was spending time with her family, including sister Sheikh Rehana and her niece Labour MP Tulip Siddiqui.
