DCs told to monitor markets: Minister

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi addresses a media call on Wednesday (Jan 9). Focus Bangla/File PhotoCommerce Minister Tipu Munsi has said the deputy commissioners (DCs) have been asked to monitor the market so that no traders can profit on ground of low supply of food products.
"Besides, instruction to conduct mobile court has also been given throughout the year to ensure safe food," he said on Tuesday (Jul 16).
Speaking at the DC Conference in Dhaka, Munsi said that price of essential commodities including onion has gone up recently as import of onion has affected due to heavy rain in India and China.
'However, price of onion will become normal in next 15 days," he assured.
Replying a query on DCs facing challenge to implement government decision, the minister appreciated the activities of the district administration chiefs.
"They are properly following the government decisions and implementing those," he added.
