Hasina’s India visit likely in October

PTIPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to visit neighbouring India in October to attend the India Economic Summit.
She is also expected to travel to the UK later this month for a meeting with Bangladesh envoys posted in the 15 missions across Europe.
The India Economic Summit will be held in New Delhi from Oct 3 to 4.
The event, organized by World Economic Forum, has four thematic pillars: new geopolitical reality, new social system, new ecological system and new technological system.
Hasina will co-chair the new social system thematic issue, which will discuss inequality, inclusive growth, health and nutrition, according to the India Economic Summit website.

The government wants to develop an ICT-based human resource to make them the driving force for attaining higher economic growth and in the WEF such issues are discussed, according to the official who asked not to be named.
It’s likely that Hasina will co-chair an event along with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, added the official.
Envoys’ conference in London
The first-ever envoys' conference was held in Dhaka in 2017, when top diplomats posted in 58 countries around the world participated. The second conference was slated for April this year, which was postponed.
The foreign ministry has decided that the prime minister will hold a conference in London with the top diplomats posted in the 15 European countries.
“We are taking preparations.The conference aims to discuss issues ranging from development goals, economic diplomacy and the Rohingya crisis,” an official told Bangla Tribune.
