Bangladesh’s life expectancy at birth has risen to 72 years in 2017 from 71.6 years the previous years, says the latest figures by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
Life expectancy of women increased to 73.5 years last year from 72.9 years in 2016, says the survey styled ‘Bangladesh Sample Vital Statistics 2017’.
In 2017, men's life expectancy was 70.6 years against 70.3 years the previous year.
The study was launched on Wednesday at BBS offices in Agargaon with Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal attending the event.
