Croatia has expressed interest in recruiting human resources from Bangladesh in the near future.
This was conveyed to Bangladesh Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Belal during a meeting with Dražen Opalić, Croatian Labour Assistant Minister on Tuesday (Jun 18).
A press release from Bangladesh embassy in the Netherlands said during the meeting, the Croatian minister stated that this year they are willing to issue license for 51,000 manpower mostly from within Europe and a smaller number from outside Europe.
The government of Croatia, being aware of the availability of quality manpower in Bangladesh, has expressed its desire to sign a MOU between the employment services of the two governments.
While apprising the Croatian Minister about Bangladesh’s capacity to provide both skilled and un-skilled manpower in all possible sectors that they may need, Ambassador Belal requested the minister to visit Bangladesh to see for themselves the arrangements that Bangladesh government had put in place for orderly process of migration with necessary skill.
The Croatian minister informed that at this time they are interested to recruit doctors, nurses, ICT experts, tourism workers and construction workers from Bangladesh.
Croatia will soon forward a draft MOU to Bangladesh for its consideration. Once MOU is signed, all necessary preparations will be put in place for recruitment of human resources from Bangladesh to Croatia.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Croatian Employment Agency, Ministry of Labour and Pension System, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs etc.
Earlier in the day, Ambassador Belal also had a meeting with Petar Uzorinac, Acting Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia in his office. Among other issues, the issue of recruitment of manpower from Bangladesh was also discussed during the meeting.
It may be noted that Bangladesh Embassy in the Netherlands is also concurrently accredited to Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
