Nasima Begum told Bangla Tribune: “after talking to him the probe committee has ascertained that the pilot left his passport at the Biman office by mistake.”

The probe committee had four members initially, including Nasima. The others are Joint Secretary of home ministry’s Security Division Md Helal Mahmud Chowdhury, Civil Aviation and Tourism Joint Secretary Mustakim Billah Faruqi and Joint Secretary of home ministry’s Public Security Division Md Jahangir Alam.

However, the committee later adopted another two officials of the Shahjalal International Airport.

On June 6, Captain Fazal Mahmud, left Dhaka with a Biman 787 plane to bring back the PM from Finland. At transit, he was given accommodation at the Doha airport but when he wanted to enter Qatar, the immigration officials asked for his passport, which he could not show.
