India’s newly appointed foreign minister S Jaishankar said he is committed to bring the India-Bangladesh partnership up to the level set by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman after the War of Liberation in 1971, reports BSS.
In a letter to his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen on Jun 4, Jaishankar said the relation between the two closest neighbours has become deeper due to the wise and far-sighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, a foreign ministry statement reads.
The newly appointed foreign minister also expressed his keen interest to visit Bangladesh soon.
