Bangladesh Consulate General in Istanbul celebrated holy Eid-Ul-Fitr on Jun 4 with the participation of Bangladesh community living in Istanbul and its neighboring cities.

On this occasion, the Bangladesh Mission was illuminated with colorful lights, turning it into a ground of joy and festivity.

The reception hosted by the Consulate on the Day eventually emerged as the main attraction for the members of the community in sharing their Eid greetings and feelings.



Prior to the reception, the messages given by Hon’ble President and Hon'ble Prime Minister on the occasion were read out. In his welcome remarks, the Consul General Dr Mohammad Monirul Islam greeted all the participants.
On this auspicious occasion, Consul General Dr. Islam expressed hope that the existing bond of friendship between Bangladesh and Turkey would be further consolidated and deepened in the days to come. In this connection, he underlined that the next two years-2020 and 2021-would be extremely significant in projecting and branding Bangladesh abroad as we would celebrate the 100th Birth anniversary of the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2020 and the ‘Golden Jubilee’ of our glorious Independence in 2021.
In the introductory remarks, Mr. Bidosh Chandra Barman, Head of Chancery and Consul of the Mission gave a brief outline of Mission’s recent activities in promoting Bangladesh's interests in Turkey, especially in the fields of commerce, economy, education and people to people contacts. 
Sharing their Eid experiences in Turkey, the participants appreciated the Mission’s efforts and drives in raising Bangladesh’s image and profile in Turkey.


The celebration was rounded off entertaining the guests with traditional Bangladeshi Eid delicacies.
