Train stations thronged with passengers while the bus terminals were relatively empty as the Eid holiday rush began on Friday (May 31).Part of the big rush to go home before Eid has already begun on Friday (May 31) and while the train stations thronged with passengers, the bus terminals were relatively empty.
A spot visit of Kamlapur Rail Station showed that even though some of the trains are delayed, the carriages are filling out in no time.
“Passenger rush has increased but we are prepared to handle the pressure,” Kamlapur Station Manager Mohammad Aminul Hoque told Bangla Tribune.
The scenario was completely different at the Gabtoli bus terminal where transport workers were seen calling out to passengers to buy tickets.
Train stations thronged with passengers while the bus terminals were relatively empty as the Eid holiday rush began on Friday (May 31).Most of the sellers at the ticket counters are sitting idly while some were seen haggling with customers over ticket prices.
According to them, many buses are leaving the terminal with several empty seats as the pressure of travelers is no different than usual.
“The buses are also sitting idle due to the lack of passengers. The rush will begin when the garment factory holidays will begin on Jun 3,” said Rajdhani Express Assistant Manager Reazaul Molla Raju.
Unique Poribohon employee Md Sham said that it takes more than a couple of hours to fill up buses that usually take 30 minutes to fill in holiday rush.
