Government and private offices in capital Dhaka resumed on Monday after the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation, though the usual buzz was missing because of thin attendance.
The number of officials at the Secretariat, the main administrative hub, was low. The scene was no different at other offices.
Only 20 percent of the officials attended at the secretariat till 10am.
The commerce minister Tofail Ahmed and the information minister Hasanul Haq Inu will exchange greetings at their respective offices on the first working day after ending the Eid vacation, sources said.
Dhaka streets still wore a deserted look on the third day after Eid.
It is being observed that the capital city will return to its usual pace in the next couple of days.
Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of Muslims, had been celebrated in the country amid much enthusiasm and religious fervour on Saturday.
