The government has extended the contract of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim by another three years until 2022.
The extended term of Ihsanul, who enjoys the status of a secretary, will come into effect on Jun 18, the public administration ministry said in a gazette issued on Tuesday (May 28).
On Jun 15, 2015, the government appointed Ihsanul as the PM’s press secretary for a year and extended his contract by three more years on Jun 16, 2016.
Before taking charge of the media wing of Prime Minister’s Office, Ihsanul served worked as the president’s press secretary and managing director and chief editor of the state-run news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
