Barrister Rumeen Farhana has been elected as a lawmaker in BNP’s one reserved seat for women in the Parliament.
Election Commission Joint Secretary and Returning Officer Abul Quasem made the announcement on Tuesday (May 28).
“Today [Tuesday] was the last day to withdraw the nomination. Since Rumeen Farhana hasn’t withdrawn her nomination we have declared her the winner,” he said.
He added that the gazette will be published in a couple of days after the documents are presented at the Election Commission.
Farhana has been be elected unopposed as she was the lone candidate for the reserved seat for woman from BNP.
