The parliament has passed the supplementary budget of Tk 153.398 billion for the outgoing 2017-18 fiscal to meet increased expenditures of different ministries and divisions.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith tabled the supplementary budget on Jun 7 along with the proposals for the national budget of the upcoming fiscal 2018-19.
He moved the Appropriation (Supplementary) Bill, 2018, which the MPs’ approved by voice votes allowing the government to spend Tk 153.398 billion from the consolidated fund to meet the expenditures of the current fiscal ending on Jun 30.
The total allocation in the current national budget was Tk 4.002 trillion. In the revised budget, it stood at Tk 3.714 trillion.
In the national budget of the current fiscal, the revenue income was estimated at Tk 2.427 trillion. The revised budget kept it at Tk 2.185 trillion.
