The shipping sector has not suffer any damage due to the ‘Fani’ as the government took proper measures to take the severe cyclonic storm, says State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury.
“We were on alert about the cyclone Fani and every official and employee of the shipping ministry performed duties with utmost sincerity before the landfall of the cyclone,” he said on Sunday (May 5).
The state minister said a control room remained also open round the clock for disseminating information among people especially for the people living in the coastal belts.
“Thanks to everyone, as people were concerned about the cyclone Fani,” he said, adding ferry movement as well as launch services has already started across the country.
