The government has taken an initiative to give the country’s students a clear idea about the liberation war and its history.
As part of the initiative, a city tour would be arranged for the meritorious students of some prominent schools in the capital, said sources.
Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) director Professor Dr Abdul Mannan in this regard told the Bangla Tribune: “The initiative at will be implemented in the capital. By turns, all the educational institutions of the country will be incorporated.”
“All the schools already organise study tours. To highlight the history of liberation war, the initiative has been taken,” he added.
DSHE and education ministry sources said, the government has taken the initiative to show the museum at Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Dhanmondi residence, liberation war museum and other places related to the history of liberation war.
The DSHE have been instructed to implement the project, said sources.
In a letter sent to a number of prominent schools in the capital on June 5, the DSHE have sought a list of meritorious students by June 7, they added.
