People from all walks of life joined protest rally in the city’s Shahbag intersection on demanding justice to Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi. Eighteen -year-old Nusrat was set on fire on Apr 6, the day of her Alim exam, for refusing to lift sexual assault charges against now withdrawn madrasa principal Sirajuddaula. Five days later, she died of extensive burn injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Speakers at the rally demanded punishment to the perpetrators including death penalty for Sirajuddaula.
