Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina speaks at a meeting of Awami League Central Working Committee at Ganabhaban on Friday (Apr 5). PIDPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said her government is working to reduce the income inequality among the people of the country.
“We have taken initiatives to reduce the income inequality to take the impact of development to each corner of the country,” PM said while addressing the meeting of Awami League Central Working Committee at Ganabhaban on Friday (Apr 5).
Hasina said, “We have been constructing as many as 100 economic zones. Once completed, 10 million people will get job. There will be no extreme poverty; we are working to change the fate of the grass root people.
“With the people’s trust and confidence, Awami League has formed the government and we are working to return the favor,” she said.
Mention Bangladesh will be a developed country by 2071, Hasina said, “At that time, people will celebrate the centenary of the independence as a developed country’s citizen.”
Speaking of the eager crowd who got busy in taking selfie during public crisis, Hasina said some people unnecessarily gathered if a fire breaks out.
“Sometimes, crowd attack the firefighters. A firefighter vehicle has been vandalized during the Mar 28 fire in the city’s Banani. If each of them took a bucket full of water rather than attacking the rescuers it would be more helpful,” she said.
PM said, “Some people go to a fire spot just to take selfie. I don’t understand what joy people find in taking selfie rather than taming the fire.
She also appreciated people who joined the trained volunteers during the rescue work.
“These people work from ‘their sense of responsibility’. However, some others crowded without reasons. It would be lot easier for rescuers to work if these crowd were not there,” said Hasina, who is the president of ruling Awami League.
