Quader likely to be released from hospital on Apr 5

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has left Dhaka aboard an air ambulance on his way to Singapore for medical treatment. Facebook/Obaidul QuaderAwami League leader Obaidul Quader, who has been undergoing treatment at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital, is likely to be released on Friday (Apr 5) or Saturday (Apr 6).

The doctors treating the ruling party general secretary will decide on it on Friday morning, Quader’s spokesperson Abu Naser told Bangla Tribune.

“Coordinator of the road transport minister’s treatment Dr Abu Nasar has informed us about the development upon discussion with his doctors. He has also said that Obaidul Quader’s health is gradually improving,” Naser said before adding, “He will stay in Singapore a few more days after his release for follow-up treatment.”

On Mar 3, the senior Awami League leader suffered a cardiac arrest following which he was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University  (BSMMU) hospital. On Mar 4 he was airlifted to Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital, where a bypass surgery was performed on him on Mar 20.
