A public hearing has been scheduled to be held by the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) with the staffs and employees of firms that were located on the 8th, 9th and 10th floor of Banani's FR Tower.
Md Faizur Rahman, additional secretary (planning and development), Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, made the statement in a press briefing on Saturday (Mar 30) morning.
He informed that the public hearing will start around 10am and will last till 12pm on Sunday (Mar 31), where they will discuss and try to determine the cause of the devastating fire.
Faizur Rahman, also the head of the probe committee formed by Disaster Management and Relief Ministry, said, "The 8th, 9th and 10th floors were the ones that endured the most damage inflicted by the fire."
"Although, the upper floors were not affected by fire much, the smoke and soot from the fire reached those upper storeys," added the government official.
To the journalists, he informed that the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) authorities have asked the owners of the FR Tower to provide them with all the necessary documents of the building on Saturday (Mar 30).
