Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader has been moved to a cabin from the intensive care unit (ICU) of Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital after his conditions improved.
“He was shifted at 4pm local time (2pm BDST) on Wednesday (Mar 26),” news agency UNB quoted Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Quader, who is the ruling Awami League general secretary, “is doing well and his pressure and diabetes are in control”, Rezvi informed the minister’s family members at the hospital lobby, quoting doctors.
Later, Quader’s Information Officer Sheikh Walid Foyez briefed the media.
The minister underwent a bypass surgery on Mar 20.
On Mar 3, Quader was admitted to BSMMU following breathing complications. Tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery.
On the next day, he was airlifted to the Singapore hospital.
