Hasina’s two-day visit to India starts today, when she will have a meeting with Indian premier Narendra Modi and receive a honourary doctorate degree from Kazi Nazrul University in Asansol.
She will travel to Viswa Bharati University today to inaugurate the ‘Bangladesh Bhawan’ along with Modi. The two premiers will then attend the convocation of the university.
This will be the second meeting of two prime ministers within a month as the leaders met in London last month at the sidelines of the Commonwealth’s heads of government summit.
The talks will centre on water, connectivity, power, energy and infrastructure, said a senior government official.
Hasina will return to Kolkata the same day and travel to Asanol the next day to receive an honourary doctorate from the Kazi Nazrul University.
