Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader’s health has gradually improved.
His blood pressure is normal, kidneys are stable and the infection remains under control, said Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, a professor at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), who is accompanying Quader in Singapore.
Deputy Public Relation Officer of the ministry Abu Naser told Bangla Tribune that Dr Rizvi briefed the media on Quader’s health at Singapore on Friday (Mar 8) quoting Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Sivathasan Cumaraswamy, senior member of the five-member medical board for Quader.
Quader's wife Isratunnesa Quader, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Singapore Mostafizur Rahman and Sheikh Helal, MP, were present at the briefing.
On Mar 3, Quader, who is the road transport minister, was admitted to BSMMU after complained of breathing troubles.
Later, doctors identified three blockages in his coronary artery through an angiogram and opened one.
On the next day, he was airlifted to the Singapore hospital after renowned Indian Cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty visited him at the BSMMU and recommended for better treatment.
