The government has extended the Ekushey Book Fair by two days.

The fair will end on Saturday (Mar 2) instead of Thursday (Feb 28), said a media release by the cultural affairs ministry adding that it will remain open from 11am to 9pm.

Publishers have been calling to extend the month-long fair citing the weather condition over the last three days as well as for the Dhaka North mayoral by-polls on the last day of the fair.

“The fair will end on Saturday as per the prime minister’s instruction,” Habibullah Siraji, director general of the Bangla Academy, told Bangla Tribune.
