Plane hijack: Biman opens separate inquiry

REUTERSNational flag career Biman Bangladesh Airlines has opened a separate investigation into the Sunday’s (Feb 24) hijacking of one of its aircraft at Chattogram airport.
A four-member committee head by Biman Director (planning) Mahbub Jahan Khan was formed on Monday (Feb 25).
The committee has been asked to report with five working days.
Meanwhile, the civil aviation ministry formed another five-member probe body after the incident.
On Sunday night, one Palash tried to ‘hijack’ Biman Bangladesh’s BG-147 flight at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat Airport before he was neutralised by the commandos.
The Dubai-bound flight with a stopover at Chattogram left Dhaka at 5:05pm, carrying as many as 134 passengers and 14 crew members.
