The government has taken a project worth of Tk 3 billion for persevering the historic places in the historic Suhrawardy Uddyan in the capital, says former housing and public works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossen.
“As per the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we have taken a master plan to protect the historic places in the Suhrawardy Uddyan,” said Mosharraf, who is a treasury bench lawmaker, in reply to notice placed by the treasury bench lawmaker Shajahan Khan under the rules of procedure-71 in the House with Deputy Speaker M Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair.The former minister said along with the present Shishu park, saying that a statue of Bangabandhu recalling his historic address of Mar 7, 1971, will also set up in the Uddyan.
In addition to this, the other historic event which has been created centring the historic uddyan will also be restored under the plan, said Mosharraf.
