State Minister for Murad Hassan`s car in front of the Mowla Brothers pavilionState Minister for Health Murad Hassan baffled the visitors at the Amar Ekushey book fair by bringing his shiny black sedan right in front of a pavilion.
The state minister parked his car in front of the Mowla Brothers pavilion on Sunday (Feb 17) evening.
“I was really surprised to see a car in front of the Mowla Brothers pavilion around 5pm in the evening,” Ali Asif Shawon, a journalist told Bangla Tribune.
Saying that she had never seen a car enter through the gates of the fair, Rezwana, a visitor said, “We usually leave our cars at the TSC and walk to the fair.”
“Maybe the state minister couldn’t have done that for safety reasons, but he could at least have left the car at the Suhrawardy Udyan entrance,” she added.
Responding to queries on the matter, book fair committee member Jalal Ahmed said, “I heard about it but didn’t see it.”
He said that it was probably allowed out of respect for the Cabinet member.
Meanwhile, Mowla Brothers’ owner Ahmed Mahmudul Hoque said that the state minister went to their stall to purchase a book and left shortly.
“I was busy at the stall and didn’t see a car,” Hoque said.
State Minister Hassan couldn’t be reached for a comment as his phone was found switched off.
