On Sunday (Feb 3), a draft of ‘Agreement of Labour Cooperation’ has been finalised by the Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment ministry at a meeting with its Secretary Rownak Jahan in the chair
The government has planned to send skilled workers as per East Africa’s country’s labour market demand, Jahan said before adding, “There is huge potential for overseas employment and remittance earning.”
According to the ministry’s sources, there is a demand for foreign workers' jobs in three categories in Seychelles.
The first category includes jobs in tourism, construction, agricultural, manufacturing, fisheries, financial service and security companies.
The second one is trade and elderly service sectors while the third category includes jobs for demotic help.
Usually, Seychelles permits a foreign worker to have the same job for maximum six years straight, subject to change in line with the country’s labour market demand.
