The Biswa Ijtema will be held on Feb 15, 16 and 17 this year and not in two phases like it had been held over the last few years.
The decision came on Thursday (Jan 24) following a meeting at the religious affairs ministry presided over by State Minister Sheikh Md Abdullah.
Leaders of the two factions within Tabligh Jamaat also attended the meeting.
On Wednesday, the conflict between the factions over the congregation following a two-and-a-half-hour meeting presided over by Home Minister Asadauzzam Khan.
The Biswa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of Muslims after the Hajj, was postponed after the two factions announced different schedules in December last year.
Tabligh is now the largest organisation of Sunni Muslims in the Indian subcontinent with its headquarters, referred to as the Markaz, in New Delhi.
