Zero tolerance against corruption at BRTC: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader. FILE PHOTORoad Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said “Zero Tolerance Policy against Corruption” will be strictly followed at the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC).

“Zero tolerance against corruption to be maintained at BRTC,” he told a view-exchange meeting with the BRTC officials and its depot managers at BRTC building in city’s Motijheel area on Tuesday (Jan 22).

Quader directed the BRTC authority to take necessary measures to increase manpower for the organization, reports BSS.

The minister said software-based digital management system is being introduced at BRTC activities to ensure transparency and collect revenue.

“This system, on a test case, has already been introduced at Kalyanpur, Motijheel and Gabtolly depots,” he said, adding that this would help reduce malpractice and increase quality of services as well.

Replying to a query on BNP secretary general’s recent remark, the AL general secretary said, “It seems to me that BNP didn’t take any lesson from the past.”

About the upcoming upazila election, he said BNP has the right to take part in the polls. “BNP itself will take decision to this end,” he added.
