President, PM pay tribute to Syed Asharf

President M Abdul Hamid pays homage to public administration minister and former Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam at the South Plaza of the parliament complex on Sunday (Jan 6). They placed wreaths on the coffin of Syed Ashraf at the South Plaza of the parliament complex on Sunday (Jan 6), reports BSS.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Deputy Speaker M Fazley Rabbi Mia placed wreaths there.
Later, the president attended the first janaza of the veteran politician at 10:30am there.

President Hamid also offered a post-janaza munajat where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasaina, Speaker, deputy speaker, ministers, lawmakers, senior leaders of Awami League and other political parties, well-wishers, officials and parliament’s employees attended.
They sought eternal peace of the departed soul of Ashraful Islam, who breathed his last on Jan 3 at a Bangkok hospital at the age of 68 after battling against lung cancer.
