A celebration of first span installation of the Padma Bridge is going on at Mawa of Munshiganj district, Shibchar of Madaripur district and Jajira in Shariatpur district. 1. The name of the Padma Bridge is ‘Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project.’
2. The Padma Bridge is two-storied. This bridge is being constructed with concrete and steel.
3. The total project cost of the Padma bridge project (including increased cost in the main Bridge in the third phase) is about Tk30,793.39cr.
4. Tk524 crore is allocated in the fiscal year 2017-18, for the Padma Bridge project.
5. River training cost of the Padma bridge project is Tk8,707.81 cr.
6. The name of the company contracted in Padma bridge project is ‘China Railway Group Limited’
