Arms-license holders are barred to carry arms until Dec 30, the voting day for the 11th Parliamentary polls, said Home Minister Asaduzzama Khan Kamal.

He informed the media on Wednesday (Dec 12) after a meeting on law and order situation centring the polls at the ministry.

“Candidates, who possess arms licenses can keep their arms with them, however, they cannot show their arms,” said Kamal adding, “A circular on illegal arms recovery and use of legal arms will be issued in a couple of days according the Election Commission’s directive.”

Kamal also said, “Our law enforcement agencies are extremely skilled and trained. They are capable of dealing with and deterring violence.”

“Anyone trying to unleash terror will be strictly restrained,” added the home minister.
