Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been invited to attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit outreach programme which will be held in Canada’s Québec city on June 8 and 9.
She was also invited in G7 summit meeting held in Japan in 2016.
An official seeking anonymity said, “The prime minister has been invited to attend G7 summit for the second time in last two year, which is a great honour for us.”
The government is yet to take any decision on her joining to the summit, he added.
The Group of Seven (G7) is a group consisting of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom and the United States.
These countries, the most advanced economies in the world, represent more than 62% of the global net wealth ($280 trillion).
