Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhurty has submitted his credentials to Win Myint, President of the neighbouring country on Thursday.
He has also met State Counsellor Aung Sun Suu Kyi at her office after submission of the credential.
Asked on his meeting with the country’s de-facto leader Suu Kyi, Karim told the Bangla Tribune, “It was the first call on. We talked about how to increase cooperation and maintain good neighbourly relations.”
They also discussed if there is any divergence, it would be settled through negotiation and discussion, he added.
A Foreign Service officer of the 17th Bangladesh Civil Service intake, Manjurul reached Nay Pyi Daw on Mar 6 but due to change in Myanmar’s presidency in, his credential presentation ceremony was delayed.
