The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday issued a ban on carrying explosives, crackers and explosion of firecrackers in the areas of its jurisdiction in the capital ahead the holy Shab-e-Barat.
The restriction has been enforced under section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance-1976 (Ord. No. III of 1976), for maintaining the sanctity and ensuring peaceful observation of the Shab-e-Barat, said an official release of DMP.
The ban will come into force from 6pm on May 1 and remain effective till 6am on May 2.
