Media reports quoted BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi saying that secretaries to the PMO, public administration ministry and civil aviation ministry had a secret meeting on the night of Nov 20 at the Dhaka Officers’ Club with senior officials of the administration and top law enforcers.
The allegations were dismissed on Sunday (Nov 25) in separate statements issued by the offices of PMO Secretary Sajjadul Hassan, Public Administration Secretary Faiz Ahmed and Civil Aviation Secretary Md Mohibul Haque.
The three bureaucrats did not go to the Officers’ Club on that specific day, said the statements.
Secretary Faiz Ahmed left his office around 8pm that day and attended a family event, says the public administration ministry.
The civil aviation and tourism ministry said that Secretary Md Mohibul Haque attended a previously scheduled event at the Hotel Sonargaon from 6pm to 10pm on Nov 20.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that Secretary Sajjadul Hassan did not go to the Club that day and that he was the victim of ‘a propaganda’.
