Former BNP state minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has written to the Election Commission seeking police protection to appear in court.
On Sunday (Nov 18), Milon’s wife Nazmun Nahar Baby handed a letter, signed by her husband, to the Election Commission.
Speaking to the media after submitting the letter, Baby said, “We want to continue the legal battle, we want to appear before the court. But, law enforcement agencies have been obstructing us to do so.
“Detectives have been posted on the court premises, even a woman, wearing a burqa, becomes subject to checking. So, we want protection on our way to the court,” she said.Baby separately met with election commissioners – Rafiqul Islam and Kabita Khanam and briefed them about the letter.
Islam assured to look into the matter while Khanam will place the issue before the commission, Milon’s wife said.
She sought the chief election commissioner’s appointment but she didn’t get it after waiting for two and a half hours.
