Transport workers have threatened to go on a 96-hour strike unless the government meets their eight-point demands including the change to the transport law by the next 21 days.
Workers’ body Bangladesh Road Transport Workers’ Federation made the ultimatum on Monday (Oct 29) as a 48-hour nationwide strike rolled into the second day.
Usman Ali, general secretary of the federation, told Bangla Tribune, “We give the government 21 days to meet our demands and if it doesn’t do so by the time, we’ll go on a 96-hour work abstention,”
Meantime, the federation will continue its peaceful demonstration at the divisional towns and terminals, he added.
