Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan skipped today’s Cabinet meeting due to family reason, said Cabinet Secretary Shafiul Alam.
After the meeting on Monday, the secretary briefed the media.
“Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan was not present at the meeting. He is absent as one of his relatives died,” the cabinet secretary said.
In reply to a question on harassment of people by the transport strike, the secretary said, “The issue was not discussed as it was not on the agenda. But, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed Roads and Bridge Division Minister Obaidul Quader to solve the problem.”
In reply to another question of whether the government is concerned or not, he said, “We all have that concern.”
