Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home on Saturday (Oct 20) night after wrapping up her four-day visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 1:22am.
The flight took off from King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah at 4.15 pm(KSA time) on Friday (Oct 19), reports BSS.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi, Bangladesh Consul General in Jeddah FM Borhan Uddin and representatives of Saudi government saw the Prime Minister off at the airport.
During the visit, the prime minister had an audience with the Saudi King at Royal Palace and joined a lunch hosted by the King in her honour.
She also held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defense Minister Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and discussed issues relating to bilateral interests.
The prime minister also met with leaders of the Council of Saudi Chamber and the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce.
The four-day visit of the premier saw the signing of five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) regarding cooperation in industrial and power sectors were signed between Dhaka and Riyadh.
The prime minister also inaugurated Bangladesh Chancery Building in the Diplomatic Quarters, Riyadh and laid the foundation stone of the Chancery Building of Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah.
Sheikh Hasina offered ziarat at Rowza of Holy Prophet (PBUH) at Masjid Al-Nabawi and performed Umrah in Makkah.
