Parliament goes into session Oct 21

On Thursday (Oct 4), President Md Abdul Hamid convened the session, said a Parliament Secretariat media release.
The upcoming session is likely to be brief one as the countdown for the general election will start from Oct 30.
According to the Bangladesh Constitution, the national polls have to be held within the last 90 days of the current parliament, which means the 11th Parliamentary Election has to be held between Oct 30 and Jan 28 next year.
The 22nd session of 10th Parliament prorogued on Sept 20.
The Constitution stipulates convening a Parliament session within 60 days after the previous session ends. However, it is not required during the last 90 days for holding the national election.
