The much talked about book by former Bangladesh chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha will be launched at Washington, DC on Saturday (Sept 29).
The autobiography ‘A Broken Dream: Rule of Law, Human Rights and Democracy’ was written during Sinha’s days in Canada after he stepped down last year.
An e-mail from the mail id, [email protected] said that the launching ceremony will take place at Zenger Room of the National Press Club, 529 14th Street NW, 13th Floor, Washington DC.
It said that American diplomat and senior scholar of the Woodrow Wilson Center William B Milam will chair the launching event.
Milam served as the US Ambassador to Bangladesh between 1990 and 1993.
In his book, Sinha claimed that he was ‘exiled’ by the government and resigned in the face of intimidation and threats by the military intelligence agency, DGFI.
DGFI spokesperson, however, said they never coerce anyone.
