President M Abdul Hamid asked all concerned to increase the use of modern technology in agriculture sector in haor region.
“Utilize the local potentials to change your fates,” he said while exchanging views with a cross section of people including local political leaders and distinguished persons at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Auditorium-cum- Community Centre at Kishoreganj on Monday evening.
He added: “Work jointly with open mind . . . Shun respective personal envy for the sake of a comprehensive development.”
President Hamid also stressed considering the environment prior to doing any development works so that no development activities harm the haor environment, BSS reports.
“Try to develop your own area . . . If it is possible to develop the overall condition of the poor, then whole country will be developed to the end,”
President Hamid told the people, who raised various questions during the meeting, that people should inform the problems to your representatives including Union Parishad (UP) member, chairman, upazila chairman and local lawmakers.
“If they are quite unable to solve the problems, then I will handle it, if necessary,” he replied after giving a patient hearing of various queries of a cross section of people in the meeting.
Referring to local disputes, the President urged the educated and elites to settle the disputes instantly as it is not to difficult to give a solution of the problems for them.
