High court has fixed Tuesday, Sept 25, for the hearing of a writ asking for a directive to have imprisoned BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, treated at a specialised hospital.
The court has said: “the issue of her treatment is delicate and the hearing will be on Tuesday.”
A high court bench of justices Sheikh Hassan Arif and Ahmed Sohel gave this order on Monday (Sept 24).
During the hearing, Khaleda Zia was represented by senior advocate AJ Mohammad Ali and barrister Kaisar Kamal while attorney general Mahbubey Alam represnted the state.
The three-time prime minister is serving a five-year term after she was convicted of embezzling foreign donations made to the Zia Orphanage Trust.
