Leader of the Opposition Raushon Ershad has advised blocking social media sites, like Facebook after 11pm in an effort to safeguard the students.
“The younger generation is hooked on smartphones and the internet. They don’t sleep at night but surf on Facebook,” she told during her concluding speech of the parliament’s 22nd session.
“Blocking Facebook after 11pm will benefit the student. A lot of countries have blocked Facebook, for instance China and Saudi Arabia,” said the Jatiya Party senior co-chairperson.
She called on the prime minister to raise the age limit for entering public services to 35 years.
The Opposition leader also demanded to include all educational institutions under the government’s monthly pay order (MPO) scheme.
