Freedom-fighter artist Shahabuddin’s 69th Birthday celebrated

The 69th birthday of Bangladeshi artist and freedom fighter Shahabuddin Ahmed has been celebrated in a grand ceremony at the Capital’s Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The event in honour of the accomplished artist, presided over by National Professor Anisuzzaman, was attended by artists, literary personalities, journalists, cultural activists, freedom fighters, writers, and political activists.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was present as the chief guest in the occasion.
Professor Abdul Manna, French envoy to Bangladesh Marie-Annick Bourdin, Bangla Tribune Editor and Lyricist Zulfikar Russell, ATN Bangla Chief Executive Munni Saha were among the dignitaries present during the event.
Shahabuddin, a globally celebrated artist, was born in Raipur in Narsingdi in 1950. The artist, a freedom fighter, is the recipient of the highest civilian award Swadhinata Padak (Independence Award).
Speaker Chaudhury said that artist Shahabuddin is our pride who has highlighted the independence war in his canvas before the world.
Over the last three decades, his remarkable works have been extensively exhibited all across the globe.
